Sheng-Hung Lee Co-Organizes MAKE TO:GATHER Webinar
by Adam Felts
AgeLab Research Assistant Sheng-Hung Lee was co-organizer of a three-day MIT webinar and workshop series titled MAKE TO:GATHER. Sponsored in part by the MIT AgeLab, the webinar was intended to create connections between design professionals across disciplines and to introduce design thinking to the MIT community. The webinar invited six creative professionals with backgrounds ranging from industrial design, interaction design, architecture, design education, innovation leadership, to entrepreneurship to share their stories and experiences in the interaction and experience design field. At the end of each session, participants joined in a short hands-on workshop to apply their takeaways from the webinars to real-world cases.
Mr. Lee and Ziyuan Zhu, a graduate student in MIT’s Department of Architecture, co-hosted and co-facilitated the first day of the webinar. In this first session, Momo Estrella, Head of Digital Design at IKEA China, discussed implications of the COVID-19 pandemic for design interaction, and Jason P. Belaire, Chair of the Industrial Designers of Society of America (IDSA), talked about the epistemic challenge of accessing new methods of problem-solving.
